Procedures

  • Please submit your Abstract until December 15, 2009 through the EasyChair system. You will be notified if your submission is accepted until 18 22 the end of December 2009.
  • In case of acceptance, please prepare your full paper according to the submission guidelines and submit it through the EasyChair system until January 31, 2010.
  • Find some notes for your oral presentation in the presentation section.

Submission Guidelines

Abstract. There are no design guidelines for abstracts because they have to be entered as plain text directly into the EasyChair system.

Full paper. Submitted full papers will be used for the proceedings without any further processing. Therefore you have to submit them camera-ready. Please use our MS Word template file. The layout is based on e-Perimetron, as it is planned to invite some of the authors to publish their paper in e-Perimetron after the workshop. For reference you can have a look into example paper 1 or example paper 2. Please upload your paper as DOC file via the EasyChair system.

Submission Instructions

To submit an abstract or paper through the EasyChair system please follow this procedure:

  1. Prepare your paper according to the guidelines above.
  2. Visit the Conference Submission System at the following page:
    http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cartoheritage10
  3. Login with your EasyChair username and password. If you don't have an EasyChair account, please register for one.
  4. Choose “Submit a new version” in the  “Submissions” section.
  5. Fill in all details of the form.
  6. For submitting an Abstract, please tick the only abstract box, else:
    Upload your paper.

Proceedings

  • The presented papers will be published in the proceedings of the workshop, which every workshop participant will receive on a CD-ROM.
  • Some of the workshop papers will be invited to be published in the international web journal on sciences and technolgies affined to history of cartography and maps e-Perimetron following the journal’s editorial policy.

Oral Presentations

  • Your total time slot is 15 minutes. Please prepare a presentation of at most 12 minutes to allow for a short discussion after each presentation. Discussions will be moderated by the session chair.
  • We will not allow any change of presentation computers during the workshop, therefore you have to send your presentation (preferably ppt or pdf format) to cartoheritage@cartography.tuwien.ac.at before the workshop or bring it with you on a USB stick or a CD.
  • The presentation computer uses a resolution of 1024x768 pixels. Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2007 as well as the newest versions of OpenOffice and Adobe Reader are installed. We can’t provide audio support.
  • The workshop venue provides a wireless internet connection. However, there might be occassional WLAN failures. If your presentation relies highly on internet based showcases, please also prepare some screenshots in case the internet connection doesn't work.
