Goodbye Markus Jobst
DI Markus Jobst ist Mitglied der Forschungsgruppe Kartographie und Geo-Medientechnik seit 2003. Mit Februar 2008 wird er bei Prof. Jürgen Döllner am Hasso-Plattner-Institut in Potsdam sein Interesse an der 3D-Kartographie vertiefen.
Markus Jobst hat in seiner Zeit an der TU Wien vielfältigste Aktivitäten entwickelt. So ist er in der Forschungslandschaft international aufgenommen worden, hat sich in Vorträgen bei internationalen Kongressen bewährt, hat einige reviewed Publikationen erfolgreich erstellt und hat die Breite seines wissenschaftlichen Interesses, von der 3D-Kartographie bis zur archäologischen Datenverarbeitung, erhalten. Seine Dissertationsverteidigung steht unmittelbar bevor. Seine Aktivitäten im Bereich der Lehre waren innovativ und ambitioniert und wurden mit großem Zuspruch aufgenommen. Für unsere Forschungsgruppe war Markus ein enorm wichtiges Mitglied, das sowohl in allen Bereichen des täglichen Betriebes als auch in der Unterstützung des „großen Bildes“ immer ambitioniert, selbstlos, querdenkend und selbständig „dabei“ war. Wir wünschen Ihm in Potsdam viel Erfolg und freuen uns auf ein Wiedersehen. Seine Kontaktadresse bleibt office@jobstmedia.at.

4th Conference on LBS & TeleCartography took place in Hong Kong
The 4th Conference on LBS & TeleCartography took place in Hong Kong from November 8 to 10. We are happy that the conference found a very interesting venue after it was held for the first three times at Vienna University of Technology.
