New website

After more than five years with the old website and after the recent change of the organization structure, we finally managed to set up a new website. All the information you used to find should still be there. The main change is in the news: with longer news posts we will be able to inform you better about what’s going on.

Yang Cao leaves


Yang Cao, our one-year guest researcher from the Spatial Information Research Center of South China Normal University, finished her stay at TU Vienna. We are thankful for the interesting exchange and wish her all the best!

We are now part of the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation

The Research Group Cartography was an institute of its own from 1971 until 2003 (E126). Until 2012 it was part of the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformation (E127-2).

Research Visit by Zdeněk Stachoň


Zdeněk Stachoň of the research team of the Laboratory on Geoinformatics and Cartography (LGC) at Masaryk University in Brno visited our institute for a research exchange. We are happy for the insight into his work and are looking forward to a cooperation of our groups. In return to this visit, our colleague Huang Haosheng will visit Masaryk University soon!
