UN Mapathon

This Wednesday, 30th of March, 27 students of our Research Unit contributed to the UN Mapathon, a collaborative action organized by the UN Mappers and the UNGGIM Academic Network. The Mapathon aims to map areas in OpenStreetMap where the UN carries out field operations, encourage students to contribute to open geospatial data and raise awareness about the UN Mappers mission.

We organized a Zoom session, where students collaborated while performing their mapping tasks, and as a result, our students mapped 1881 buildings in Tripoli, Libya. In total, all Mapathon participants mapped 13700 buildings in 10 hours.

Thanks to all our students for their support!
